Youth Moves

Youth Moves is a youth work charity established in South Bristol on 29 April 2005 and registered as a charity in July 2016, dedicated to improving the lives and futures of young people aged 8–25 through high-quality youth services, advocacy, advice, and open-access facilities rooted in local communities. Its mission centers on empowering marginalized youth to discover their potential, drive social change, and build resilience amid social or economic challenges, guided by core values of inclusivity, youth voice, partnership, and lasting impact. Distinctively, it leads the Bristol Youth Zone (224), an expanded hub for diverse needs, and emphasizes participatory, evidence-based programs shaped by young people themselves, supported by a volunteer board, skilled staff, and robust partnerships with local entities like Bristol City Council and BBC Children in Need.

The charity directs all funding toward its own front-line activities, prioritizing personal development, mental health and wellbeing, targeted outreach for at-risk youth, creative arts, sports, employability skills, leadership training, mentoring, peer education, and youth-led social action—exclusively benefiting young people in South Bristol, especially those facing exclusion, exploitation, or multiple barriers.

Youth Moves does not accept unsolicited applications or operate as a traditional grant-maker; it receives funding for its own operational delivery rather than awarding grants to external organizations. Eligible collaborations are hyper-local, limited to South Bristol-based partners like schools or community groups for joint service provision, with no income, size, entity, or religious restrictions specified—but strictly no external funding requests.

No grant ranges, deadlines, or application processes apply; engagement occurs via internal decisions or partnership discussions. It excludes national/regional projects, non-South Bristol activities, and standalone grant schemes, standing out for its place-based, youth-first model fostering direct, collaborative impact over broad philanthropy.
