Weston Park Hospital Development Fund Ltd, trading as Weston Park Cancer Charity, is a Sheffield-based charity founded in 1980 to enhance cancer care at Weston Park Hospital and support those affected in South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw. Its mission is to improve lives through free, accessible care, emotional and practical support, innovative research, and advanced treatments, guided by values of compassion, innovation, and community. Distinctively, it operates dually as a direct service provider—offering an information centre, complementary therapies, counselling, outreach, and hardship grants—and a key funder of cancer initiatives, funding research into causes and treatments, clinical trials, patient services, and staff training at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

It prioritises projects benefiting cancer patients and families in areas including Barnsley, Derbyshire, Doncaster, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Rotherham, and Sheffield, supporting research studies, service enhancements, capacity building, capital improvements, and practical aid. Eligible applicants include charities, community groups, NHS staff, and individuals (via clinical referral for hardship), with no income or size restrictions, as long as projects align with local cancer impact.

Small grants up to £1,500 (plus training and hardship) are accepted rolling via initial phone/email enquiry to grants@wpcancercharity.org.uk, with quick panel decisions. Large grants (£1,500+ , up to hundreds of thousands, multi-year) open 1 October to 31 December 2025, involving staged review by committees, peer assessment, and trustees. No unrestricted or core funding; all grants are purpose-restricted to cancer care, research, and support, differentiating it through its hospital-integrated, regionally targeted expertise.
