Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities operating in England (South West preferred), typically with annual incomes under £2 million (strong preference under £1 million), robust safeguarding, governance, and no highly paid executives; prior funding since 2018 is heavily prioritized, making new applicants unlikely to succeed. Typical grants range from £2,000 to £5,000 per annum, with multi-year options up to three years. Applications are rolling via an online portal (register first, submit accounts, budgets, policies), reviewed at quarterly trustee meetings; apply at least six months before project start, with decisions taking months.

The Fund excludes research, large-scale campaigning, and new hospices unless previously funded, distinguishing itself through cautious selectivity, loyalty to established grantees, and a low-key focus on capacity building and community wellbeing in its defined priorities.
