Voice4change England Limited

Voice4Change England Limited, founded in 2010, is a national membership and infrastructure organisation created by and for Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) voluntary and community sector (VCS) groups across England. Its core mission is to amplify BME voices, build organisational capacity, and drive racial justice, social inclusion, and equality through policy advocacy, research, campaigns, and peer networks. Guided by values of fairness, innovation, transparency, and transformational change, it champions systemic reform, convenes over 11,700 organisations, and supports resilient BME-led infrastructure for a more inclusive civil society.

It prioritises funding and capacity-building for racial equity initiatives, including leadership development, youth programmes, mental health, community assets, governance, and intersectional disadvantage. Beneficiaries are BME communities, grassroots activists, young people, and BME-led voluntary organisations, with support for core costs, collaborative research, advocacy, and sector resilience via programmes like the Race Equality and Infrastructure Flexible Fund and Catalyst capacity-building.

Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities or community groups based in England, preferably BME-led or serving BME communities, with a focus on small-to-medium entities (typically under £1m income) and no religious restrictions. Unsolicited applications are not accepted; apply via online forms during specific open calls advertised on the website.

Grants range from £5,000–£30,000 (up to £100,000 for multi-year projects), emphasising revenue for infrastructure over capital or standalone projects. Deadlines vary (e.g., recent round closed 24 January 2025); monitor for future launches. Distinctively, it excels as the UK's leading BME VCS infrastructure body, prioritising advocacy and collective impact over routine grantmaking, excluding non-BME-focused or unsolicited proposals.
