Tribe Freedom Foundation

Tribe Freedom Foundation, a UK-registered charity established in March 2017 by Guy Hacking, Tom Stancliffe, and Rob Martineau, emerged from a 1,000-mile Run for Love challenge to combat human trafficking and create the UK's first home for trafficked children. Its mission is to end modern slavery by empowering survivors through holistic, long-term support, fostering systemic change via collaboration, public awareness, and innovative partnerships. Distinctively community-driven, it rallies athletes and adventurers for fundraising, partners with TRIBE Nutrition (donating product sale proceeds), and leads evidence-based initiatives like the Survivor Financial Empowerment Hub with Nasdaq and UK banks, offering modules for financial inclusion, alongside the Foodies Fighting Slavery SME Toolkit for supply chain reforms.

The foundation funds targeted projects addressing modern slavery and human trafficking UK-wide, prioritising survivor financial literacy, therapeutic/legal/practical aid, awareness-raising, and capacity-building for frontline organisations. It supports survivors of all backgrounds without restrictions on age, gender, or ethnicity, backing direct services, scalable pilots, and systems-change efforts, as seen in grants to Ella’s (£80,300 for holistic support), Helen Bamber Foundation (£35,000 for specialist care), and Her Equality Rights & Autonomy (£10,000 for advocacy).

Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities, preferably small to medium-sized (turnover £100,000–£1,000,000) with proven survivor-led or informed models and capacity for sustained impact; geographic focus is UK-wide with no regional limits. Grants are invite-only, selected proactively via partnerships, referrals, or networking—no unsolicited applications or open calls—with rolling trustee decisions year-round. Typical awards range £10,000–£50,000 (up to £80,300 for strategic partners), emphasising project/core costs for innovative, holistic work over capital, emergencies, or time-limited aid. Its blend of adventure fundraising, financial empowerment focus, and sector-wide tools sets it apart in survivor-centred anti-slavery philanthropy.
