SWFT Charity, the dedicated arm of South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust, exists to fund projects, equipment, and services that enhance patient care, staff wellbeing, and community health beyond standard NHS provision across Trust sites. Rooted in compassion, community solidarity, and excellence—mirroring NHS values like integrity, inclusivity, and continuous improvement—its mission focuses on addressing unmet needs identified by frontline staff, driving lasting improvements in patient experiences, safety, dignity, and outcomes. Distinctively integrated with clinical teams, it empowers grassroots innovation through staff-suggested initiatives, evolving alongside the Trust's expansion into integrated community and specialist care.

It supports a broad spectrum of health initiatives, including specialist medical equipment (e.g., falls-prevention beds), ward refurbishments, family comfort upgrades, patient activities, rehabilitation enhancements, and staff morale projects. Beneficiaries encompass NHS patients of all ages, families, staff, and visitors in acute, paediatric, elderly, and community settings, with funds allocated to wards, departments, and linked children's services in Coventry and Solihull.

Eligibility is strictly internal: only Trust staff, departments, and clinical teams may apply—no unsolicited external applications from charities or organisations, unless directly partnering with SWFT services. Projects must serve Warwick, Leamington Spa, Stratford-upon-Avon, South Warwickshire, and select neighbouring areas.

Grants range from £1,000–£15,000 for smaller items (most under £25,000) to £50,000–£200,000 for major capital works, via email or internal forms on a rolling basis, with Trustee decisions at quarterly meetings (typically February, May, August, November). Exclusions include core costs, unrestricted grants, and non-Trust initiatives; its standout responsiveness to staff insights and alignment with NHS strategy differentiates it as a targeted enhancer of local healthcare delivery.
