Royal Corps of Army Music Trust

The Royal Corps of Army Music Trust, a registered charity established in 1999 following the 1994 formation of the Corps of Army Music (elevated to royal status in 2020), exists to deliver welfare, benevolent, and heritage support exclusively to serving and retired members of the Royal Corps of Army Music (RCAM) and their dependents. Rooted in sustaining the Corps' esprit de corps, morale, physical fitness, and musical heritage, its values—service, camaraderie, continuity, and excellence—drive a needs-driven, bespoke approach that enhances Army efficiency and preserves musicians' specialist roles in ceremonial and diplomatic life.

It funds targeted welfare grants for hardship, funerals, and distress; educational bursaries; loans for instruments and training; sporting and adventurous activities; regimental items like uniforms; and heritage projects such as recordings, music libraries, and anniversary events. Priorities emphasize music-related well-being, professional development, family support during life crises, and cultural legacy preservation, often coordinated with partners like SSAFA and the Royal British Legion.

Eligibility is strictly limited to RCAM members/dependents or directly linked Corps groups—no external charities or unsolicited applications from others. UK-wide with no regional restrictions, it imposes no income/size rules. Grants typically range £500–£5,000 (annual totals £40,000–£90,000), reviewed rolling by the Grants Committee via email referrals from caseworkers or direct from serving members; disbursements go to responsible organizations. It excludes unrestricted/core funding, general charities, and non-RCAM beneficiaries, distinguishing itself through holistic, Corps-integrated support blending relief, progression, health, and tradition.
