Pixel Fund

The Pixel Fund, established in January 2011 by Debbie and Tim James and operating as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation since October 2020, is a UK-wide grant-maker dedicated to improving mental health outcomes for children and young people under 26. With a strong ethos of inclusivity, diversity, and measurable impact, it provides targeted project funding to specialist charities delivering interventions like peer support, therapy, and wellbeing programmes for neurodiverse, disabled, or vulnerable youth—exemplified by grantees such as Cerebral Palsy Scotland, MYTIME Young Carers, Mind, and The Therapy Garden.

It exclusively funds UK-registered charities operating anywhere in England, Wales, Scotland, or Northern Ireland, with a preference for small to medium organisations (annual income typically £20,000–£2 million, with at least one full set of accounts). Very large or very small charities, individuals, or non-UK entities are ineligible, as are projects outside mental health or UK beneficiaries.

Applications are accepted on a rolling basis via a rigorous staged process: mandatory online Q&A drop-in meetings (dates on website), followed by an Eligibility Checklist, Due Diligence form, and full Airtable submission (PDF only, paperless operation). The process takes 4–6 months, with ad hoc trustee meetings; typical first grants range £2,500–£5,000 (no more than 5% of applicant's income), prioritising projects over rare core costs, with follow-on funding for strong reporters.

Distinctively agile and outcomes-focused, Pixel Fund avoids unrestricted, capital, or emergency grants, enforcing robust progress reporting to ensure sustainable impact and scalability in youth mental health support.
