Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces Charity

The Parachute Regiment and Airborne Forces Charity, trading as SUPPORT OUR PARAS, emerged from a 2020 merger of The Airborne Forces Security Fund and The Parachute Regiment Charity to provide unified, agile support for The Parachute Regiment and all British Airborne Forces. Its core mission triples down on relieving hardship for serving soldiers, veterans from any era, and their dependants; boosting regimental efficiency and morale; and preserving the Regiment's unique history and ethos. Guided by values of lifelong camaraderie, resilience, and pride, it blends trustee expertise from the airborne community with prudent, impact-focused governance to fill gaps in state provision.

It funds targeted welfare like bespoke wheelchairs, home/vehicle adaptations, mental health support, mobility aids, bereavement assistance, funeral costs, and family travel to memorials; career transition via vocational training; and morale-boosting adventures, sports, and expeditions. Heritage investments cover museums, commemorations (e.g., Arnhem, Normandy), and regimental documentation. Beneficiaries are strictly the airborne family, with UK-wide focus but global reach for memorials; it supports individuals, families, and regimental initiatives, not external charities.

Eligibility requires direct airborne connections, UK base, and no unsolicited applications—welfare grants start via SSAFA or Royal British Legion caseworkers submitting referrals to the Regimental Welfare Team; regimental projects go through established channels. Rolling basis with prompt urgent decisions; typical grants £250–£10,000 for individuals, up to £100,000+ for heritage. Excludes retrospective claims, non-regimental causes, and core funding. Distinct for its singular expertise, £1m+ annual spend, and fusion of immediate relief, transition support, and legacy stewardship.
