Ohr Emes Ltd is a registered UK charity and company limited by guarantee, incorporated in July 2020 and charity-registered in February 2021, led by founding chair Chanoch Muller and three trustees. Deeply rooted in the Orthodox Jewish community, particularly in Hackney, London, it serves the Jewish population and wider society by relieving poverty, promoting health, advancing education, and upholding the Jewish faith globally. Guided by public benefit principles and Charity Commission regulations, it delivers funds, goods, support, and advice through trustee discretion, with strong governance, safeguarding, and financial transparency via annual reports. In 2023-24, it raised £1.84 million from donations, legacies, and grants, channeling resources into education, poverty relief, religious advancement, and welfare for Jewish children and families, including operating an independent Jewish school for ages 3-11 and supporting recipients like Ezer Viznitz Foundation and Achieved Dreams.

Funding is invitation-only, rejecting unsolicited applications; selections arise from internal recommendations, community networks, and prior engagement, with no public forms or process. Grants are awarded on a rolling basis at quarterly trustee meetings (latest November 2024), typically £10,000–£50,000, occasionally up to £75,000 for major education or capital needs. Primarily targeting Hackney, UK Jewish communities, and select international Jewish projects, it excludes non-Jewish causes and open competitions.
