London Community Foundation

London Community Foundation champions a fairer London by investing in small, local charities and grassroots groups tackling deep inequalities, wealth polarisation, and acute social challenges through community-led action. Rooted in values of trust, listening, solidarity, generosity, and empowerment, it believes lasting change arises from communities identifying and driving their own solutions, fostering resilience via hyperlocal, responsive partnerships that prioritise equity, authentic voice, and sustainable impact over top-down interventions.

It supports projects addressing poverty relief and financial hardship for families in crisis, food insecurity through community kitchens and food poverty programmes, youth violence prevention and gang crime interventions including youth-led work, mentoring, and employability training for young people facing unemployment and exclusion, homelessness prevention and support services, domestic violence recovery including counselling, advocacy, and safe spaces for survivors particularly in Black and Minoritised Ethnic communities, social isolation alleviation via befriending, peer support groups, and community activities for older people, children and young people's development through after-school clubs, skills training, and early intervention to build resilience, arts-based therapeutic activities promoting mental health and cohesion, environmental action for green spaces and climate resilience in deprived areas, alongside capacity building, core costs, crisis response, and infrastructure strengthening community ties.

Exclusively funding London-based initiatives in boroughs marked by deprivation and limited resources, it prioritises multi-dimensionally disadvantaged beneficiaries like children and young people, Black and Minoritised Ethnic groups, isolated elderly, homeless individuals, domestic abuse survivors, and families in poverty, favouring grassroots organisations with lived experience leadership and community trust. It excludes individuals, for-profits, non-community benefit activities, and anything beyond Greater London, distinguishing itself as the premier champion of hyperlocal, flexible, donor-aligned funds amplifying small charities' role in cohesive, resilient neighbourhoods.
