Intelligent Foundation is a UK-registered charity (no. 1192508) established in late 2020 by philanthropists from business, media, and giving sectors, responding to the COVID-19 fundraising crisis. Its mission is to boost charitable sector efficacy by making global giving accessible via technology, streamlining donations to over 7 million vetted charities in 215 countries—from grassroots groups to major NGOs. Rooted in maximising public benefit, it emphasises unrestricted multi-sector support, low/no-fee tech platforms (partnering with Goodstack), and payroll giving to cut costs, remove barriers, and let charities focus on impact. Trustees maintain a broad remit, prioritising excellence, integrity, and strategic grants for general operations and core costs across all causes, with over £1.2 million distributed to 230+ organisations.

As a generalist funder, it supports diverse charitable activities without thematic restrictions, backing proven interventions in any sector or beneficiary group, including communities and people worldwide, provided they demonstrate robust governance, regulatory registration, and outcomes.

Eligible entities are registered charities (UK or equivalent globally) of any size or income, with no geographic base required—most active in England/Wales but funding internationally after anti-money laundering, safeguarding, and due diligence checks. It does not accept unsolicited applications; trustees select grantees adhoc via internal reviews, recommendations, and periodic strategic assessments, with no fixed deadlines, rounds, or public processes. Grant sizes vary (not specified), typically unrestricted for flexible use.

Distinctively tech-enabled for global scale and efficiency, it excludes non-compliant or unvetted groups, favouring high-stewardship charities open to impact reporting and digital tools, differentiating it through sector-wide resilience over cause-specific focus.
