H&F Giving

H&F Giving is a place-based charitable funder established in 2018 through the merger of Hammersmith United Charities and Dr Edwards and Bishop King’s Fulham Charity, dedicated to enriching lives in the London Borough of Hammersmith and Fulham by connecting donors, businesses, and local groups to address community needs. Rooted in 400 years of philanthropic tradition, its mission fosters community philanthropy, togetherness, partnership, and local action to improve quality of life, build resilience, and create a connected borough where every generation thrives. Distinctively, it acts as a trusted intermediary and knowledge hub, using resident-led grants panels, local consultations, and evidence-based grantmaking to mobilise hyperlocal impact.

It prioritises tackling inequality, social isolation, poverty, hardship, mental health, food insecurity, and promoting wellbeing, cohesion, opportunities for children, families, youth, older people, migrants, and vulnerable residents. Funding supports grassroots initiatives like foodbanks, community kitchens, digital inclusion, peer support, youth arts, crisis relief (e.g., COVID-19, cost-of-living), capacity building, core costs, and resident-led projects enhancing social capital—favouring flexible, participatory responses over rigid themes.

Eligible applicants are UK-registered charities, social enterprises, tenants’/residents’ associations, and constituted not-for-profits operating exclusively in Hammersmith and Fulham, with a preference for small/medium grassroots groups showing local track record; no income thresholds or religious restrictions apply, and unsolicited applications are welcomed. Typical grants range £5,000–£50,000 (mostly £5,000–£15,000), via online forms during advertised rounds—next deadline 27 October 2025 for Digital Support Fund (decisions in 6–8 weeks). Exclusions include individuals, national charities, activities outside the borough, and major capital projects.
