Eveson Charitable Trust

The Eveson Trust, formerly the Eveson Charitable Trust and converted to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation in April 2022, was established under the will of Mrs Violet Eveson to deliver tangible benefits and improve quality of life for disadvantaged people in Herefordshire, Worcestershire, and the West Midlands metropolitan boroughs (Birmingham, Coventry, Wolverhampton, Dudley, Sandwell, Solihull, and Walsall). Rooted in a legacy of supporting those in need, its mission emphasizes broad charitable impact across physical and learning disabilities, mental health challenges, children and young people at risk, older people, homelessness, hospitals, hospices, and medical research. With a substantial endowment, the trust prioritizes practical, evidence-based projects addressing disadvantage, exclusion, and hardship, funding core services, frontline delivery, capital works, revenue needs, multi-year programmes, and capacity-building Enhance Grants up to £10,000.

It supports UK-registered charities of all sizes—from grassroots groups to national organizations—provided their work directly benefits people in the specified regions, with national applicants required to demonstrate clear local impact. No income thresholds apply, though requests over £100,000 need prior Chief Executive discussion.

Grants typically range from £5,000 to £50,000 (up to £100,000+), with £4.8 million distributed to 285 charities in the latest year. Unsolicited applications follow a two-stage process: online Expression of Interest via the website, then full application if invited, on a rolling basis with quarterly trustee meetings and decisions within five months (one application per year allowed). The next deadline is 20 June 2025. Distinctively regional and inclusive, the trust avoids narrow causes, favoring proven local impact, multi-year commitments, and responsive staff-trustee engagement over rigid restrictions, excluding non-charities and work outside its geography.
