Dan Maskell Tennis Trust

The Dan Maskell Tennis Trust, established in 1997 and named after the legendary 'Voice of Wimbledon' Dan Maskell, is a UK charity dedicated to advancing tennis opportunities for people of all ages with physical, sensory, or learning disabilities. Inspired by Maskell's passion for sport's rehabilitative power and accessibility, the Trust's mission emphasises inclusion, empowerment, and barrier removal through adaptive equipment and financial support, enabling recreational and competitive participation in mainstream or dedicated disability tennis programmes at clubs, schools, and community groups.

It funds specialist items like sports wheelchairs, rackets, balls, and sound balls for visually impaired players; coaching fees with LTA-licensed coaches; indoor court hire; disability programme development; and official coaching qualifications. Prioritising grassroots initiatives that introduce tennis to new disabled players or build sustainable groups, it supports individuals and UK organisations UK-wide, from England to Northern Ireland.

Eligible applicants include UK-registered charities, community groups, academic institutions, and individuals (all UK residents/citizens), with a focus on small-to-medium grassroots entities running local projects; no strict income limits apply, though large nationals are rarely funded. Grants range up to £600 for individuals and £1,600 for groups/projects, awarded quarterly on a reimbursement basis via separate online forms (individuals vs. groups). Next deadline: 2 February 2025, with decisions within 7 days post-meeting (further rounds: 13 April, 20 July, 26 October 2025).

Exclusions cover clothing, transport, marketing, administration, catering, and electronic equipment.
