Coldstream Guards Charity

The Coldstream Guards Charity, established in June 2021 as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, is dedicated to providing relief and welfare support to serving and former officers, warrant officers, non-commissioned officers, and guardsmen of the Coldstream Guards regiment, along with their dependants—including spouses, partners, widows, widowers, parents, children, and carers—facing hardship, distress, or need, whether financial or otherwise. Governed by regimental trustees, it upholds the regiment's values of loyalty, duty, and mutual support, occasionally extending aid to associated military or civilian charities and regimental welfare initiatives where public funds fall short, ensuring targeted benevolence and efficient stewardship of resources.

It prioritises grants for emergency relief, crisis support, and welfare assistance to individuals and families in acute need, such as serving members, veterans in financial distress, and dependants requiring urgent help, rather than broad community projects or organisational core funding. Beneficiaries must be past or present Coldstream Guards personnel who have completed initial training, assessed via service history, conduct, association membership, and current circumstances.

Eligibility is UK-wide with no geographic, income, or size restrictions, but applications are strictly referral-based from specialist caseworkers like SSAFA or the Royal British Legion, who provide financial reports; direct approaches are exceptional and typically redirected. There are no fixed deadlines or published grant ranges—awards are case-by-case and rolling—nor does it accept unsolicited proposals from organisations or individuals.

Exclusions include loan repayments, legal fees, private medical bills, school fees, funerals, and debts. Distinctively, its hyper-focused regimental link sets it apart in UK military welfare, emphasising solidarity for this specific community over general veteran causes.
